The Crew

Jon “The Coach” Cohn - Host

The “Coach“ Jon Cohn  was a 1974 graduate of New Trier West High School and a 1978 graduate (barely) of the University of Illinois in Champaign

He began his career as a grade school Physical Education teacher for 5 years and followed that up with a 6 year stint as Athletic Director at the Glenview Park District, supervising and conducting a variety of youth and adult sports programs.  Following that he started his own business JCsportsandtees inc, an imprinted sportswear and advertising specialties company that is 20 years old now and still going strong!

Throughout his career, Cohn has been involved in coaching, from youth league teams to varsity high school teams.  Football, volleyball, girl’s softball, basketball, soccer, and baseball have been among the sports coached.  Currently Cohn is the head high school varsity girl’s basketball coach at North Shore Country Day School, and still coaches a variety of youth teams as well.

He caught the “announcing bug“ many years back and it has become a passion of his in recent years.

He has hosted 2 previous radio shows,  “The Naked Truth About Sports“  and “The Morning Break“ which just concluded an 8 year run in the Chicago area.  Previously, Cohn was the Saturday Night overnight host for 3 years on the Score sports radio 670 WSCR in Chicago

In addition, for over 15 years Cohn has announced high school football and basketball games for Comcast Television in the Chicago area, and is currently still doing so.

Cohn has been married 17 years, and has two teenage sons.

He is hoping that 2 Guys And A “MIC” on the Talk Zone will be his final stop!

Joel “Big Dog” Radwanski - Co-Host

Joel was born and raised in Chicago, but he spent his high school years at Downers Grove North.  He’s a hardcore fan of the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and the Fighting Illini.

David Kaplan of WGN discovered Joel in 2001 selling shoes at Nordstrom on Michigan Ave.  After interning at WGN, Joel did a Saturday afternoon show called “The Thirty Minute Shot Clock” on 1240am. This was the summer of 2002 and where the connection of the “Coach” and the “Big Dog” began.  In September of that year, Joel began co-hosting on “The Morning Break” with Coach.  Since then Coach has been spreading the truth and Joel has been passing the gas.

Joel is a true walking sports almanac.  There isn’t a league champion or Mvp that he hasn’t pondered as he dreamt himself to sleep.  He was able to cash in on his expertise by becoming the all-time money winner on the ESPN TV game show, “Stump the Schwab.”   Many early fans of “The Morning Break” may recall his bit “Stump the Pole.”   This was a take off of WGN’s DR. Stupid.  The game is to stump Joel with any sports trivia after 1980.  Believe it or not he came up with the name before ESPN’s “Stump the Schwab”   I guess Coach was right, they were listening.

Sports are not the only things that occupy Big Dog’s mind.  He is a Patriot and believes in the ideals of a free capitalist society.  He hopes that one day American businesses can defeat Global warming and a dependence on foreign fuel by coming up with a renewable energy source.
